Password generator FAQs
How long should my password be?
In general, longer passwords are much harder to guess or brute‑force. For important accounts, aim for at least 12–16 characters and consider going even longer when you can store the password in a password manager.
Is it safe to use the same password on multiple sites?
No. Reusing passwords is one of the biggest security risks. If one site is breached, attackers often try the same password on other services. Always use a unique password per account and store them securely in a password manager.
Should I paste my existing production passwords here?
The strength checker runs in your browser using the zxcvbn library, but as a best practice you should avoid pasting highly sensitive or long‑term production passwords into any website. Instead, test sample or similar passwords to understand what makes a password strong.
